Special Olympics Nebraska Fall Games

West Point competed in the 2024 Special Olympics Fall Games held in Omaha and Lincoln on August 2-4. 

West Point played the Lincoln Sharks in their first game of Unified softball on Aug. 2. West Point held a 3-2 lead going into the bottom of the last inning. With runners on 2nd and 3rd with two outs, a pop fly was hit into the outfield and Michael Beeks caught the ball to secure the win.  

In game two against the Lincoln Hammerhead Sharks, West Point fell short of a comeback in the last inning to earn 2nd place. Down 5-1, West Point scored three runs with one out and a runner on first base. West Point failed to score again with the final score being 5-4.  

Earning the silver medal were athletes Tim Lierman, Madeline Brune, James Meiergerd, Jonathon Brune, Brody Schlickbernd, Ryan Polenske and Carter Bramlet.  Unified partners include Travis Heller, Jon Lierman, Jordan Paulson, Michael Beeks, Allison, Connor, Hudson and Brooks Bramlet.  Bocce results from Aug. 3 are listed below.
